THE LOGO

The name "40 Grit" reflects a unique blend of craftsmanship and resilience in our creations. Generally In woodworking, grit refers to the size of the sandpaper used, with lower numbers indicating rougher surfaces and higher numbers representing finer finishes.

However, in this case “40” is just a number referring to age. I am no longer aging past 40.

The term "GRIT" signifies the strength of beginning a new endeavor during a nationwide pandemic.

This name captures our commitment to crafting functional pieces that are not only visually stunning but also built to last. Each item we create, whether it’s a dining table or a piece of wall art, embodies the grit and determination that goes into transforming raw materials into beautiful works of art. It speaks to our dedication to quality and the journey of creation, from the first cuts of wood to the final touches of resin.

PS: The Pin-up….her name is “Buzz Saw Betty”.
